Interior design
Working closely with you the client, we’ll help to establish a highly personalised aesthetic style.
On commercial projects, we will comprehensively examine your brand, your customer and the nature of your business.
Through discussion and our deep knowledge of materials and techniques, we’ll produce floor plans, sketches and design schemes, outlines and schedules of work.
Our thoughtful approach to spatial planning gives a strong, coherent foundation for our interior design, which in turn adds layers of beautiful detail. We can apply our methods to a whole house or premises, or simply to a single living or working space.

Renovations and substantial alterations
We can undertake projects including significant redesign and remodelling of interior space, guiding you through different options and possibilities to achieve a result that is both appropriate to your building and to your individual needs.
Where required, on larger projects we can recommend an architectural team best suited to your brief. We can liaise with your architect as they work to produce technical schemes and visuals to bring your ideas to life in rich detail.
Interior decoration
Many interiors, both residential and commercial, can be completely transformed without any building work. Through colour, textiles and furniture, we harness the power of simple beauty to design schemes that will transform your space and the way you experience it.
We celebrate craftsmanship in our interiors and our approach combines careful layering of colour, pattern and texture with beautifully crafted materials and surfaces.
Interior design consultations
This service is tailored for clients who are looking for input on a smaller project – a single room or multiple spaces – without the commitment of our full interior design services.
Consultations are with our interior designer, Shaz Morton. We currently have two packages available, both offered via video call and both including a bespoke mood board.
Cabinetry and joinery
Our studio creates beautifully bespoke built-in joinery and freestanding cabinetry. Architectural details, custom doors, made-to-measure kitchens and unique items of furniture are all designed and made in our workshop in the Scottish Borders.
Furniture
We design and make furniture and lighting in our Ettrick Valley workshop. Pieces from our collection are available made to order and can be customised to fit your requirements.
In addition, we design and build fully bespoke furniture and lighting – we’d be delighted to discuss your ideas.
Project management
Some clients enjoy managing projects themselves, but for others who feel they need support then we are here to help.
From initial ideas through development to structural and warrant surveys and final completion, Forstaris has the expertise and experience to lead every step of the way.
